Using the Canvia mobile app

Select from the below for instructions on how to use the Canvia mobile app. You can also control Canvia via your web account or the desktop app.
Log in & password reset
Open the Canvia app and create a new account if you don't have it otherwise, select Log in & enter your username and password.

Note: if you've forgotten your password, you can reset it here.
Create playlists using uploaded images
Before you create a playlist, be sure to favorite the photos you would like to upload as shown below. Favoriting an upload will add to your artwork gallery.

Go to the “Playlists” section > Tap on “Add playlists”

​Give your playlist a name and add your uploads.

Tap on “+” for each photo to add to your playlist and tap it again if you would like to remove it.

Play, queue, favorite, and rotate
To play a photo on your Canvia device, tap the play button in the middle of each photo and a notification will show on your mobile device as shown below.​
To queue or schedule a photo/artwork, tap on the “...” on a photo and tap “Queue” or “Schedule” to have it play at a later time.

To change your artwork/photo name, click on “...” on a photo, tap on “Edit artwork name,” and tap “Save.” For this instance, the artwork name has been edited to “Shark”​

To favorite an artwork/photo, tap on the heart icon and it should turn red if successfully made favorite.

To rotate the artwork/photo, click on the left or right arrow on each artwork/photo to rotate in 90 degrees intervals. If successful, a notification will show on your mobile device as shown below.​

How to add to playlist, set as exhibition, and delete.​​​

To add to a playlist, set as exhibition, or delete, tap on the “...” at the top right of the “My collections” screen.

Once you are redirected to the “My Photos” page, tap on the “...” at the top right.

**This will give you an option to select photos to add to a playlist, set as exhibition, or delete on the bottom of your mobile device screen.
​
To delete a photo, select the photo you want to delete, then select “yes” when a pop-up shows. If deleting was successful, the notification will show up on your mobile device screen as shown below.

To set a photo as exhibition, select a photo and tap on “Set as exhibition.” Once you set a photo as exhibition, a notification will appear as shown below.

To add to a playlist, tap “Add to playlist,” then tap on the playlist you want to add to. If adding to playlist is successful, the notification will show up on your mobile device screen as shown below.

Upload your own images to your Canvia
Three ways to upload images to Canvia Mobile App:
(a) Uploading directly from the photos app
(b) Uploading from files app: Saving photos to files
(c ) Uploading from files app: Copy & Paste (Recommended for iOS devices)
(d) Upload from Camera
(a) Uploading directly from the photos app
1. Go to “My Collection” page and tap on “My Uploads” as shown.
2. Tap on the camera icon on the top left corner.
3. Tap on “Allow access to all photos” and select which photos you would like to upload > Tap on “Upload to Canvia”
**Note: Red checks will indicate that it has been selected
​(b) Uploading directly from the files app: Saving photos

Go to “My Collection” page and tap on “My Uploads” as shown

Tap “New upload” under “My Uploads” to upload from photos

Go to “Photos” app > Select which photos/playlists you would like to upload > Tap on “...” at the top right of the screen > Select “Share photos” > Scroll down and tap “Save to Files”
**Note: This will redirect you to the “Files” app and you will need to save your photos to this app

4. Upload files as shown below from your iPhone and click on “Upload video” to upload a photo.
5. After tapping on “Upload video,” it will redirect you back to the “My uploads” page with your uploads shown.

​(c) Uploading from files app: Copy & Paste (Recommended for iOS devices)

1. Go to “My Collection” page and tap on “My Uploads” as shown
2. Tap “New upload” under “My Uploads” to upload from photos
3.Go to “Photos” app > Select which photos you would like to upload > Tap on “...” at the top right of the screen > Select “Copy”
**Note: This will redirect you to the “Files” app and you will need to copy your photos to this app

4. Go to “Files” app > Press and hold any part of the blank area and tap “Paste”
5. Go back to the Canvia app and select which photos you would like to upload > Tap “Upload video” > The photo should be in “My uploads” as shown below.

(d) Upload from Camera

To upload from Camera, go to “My uploads.” Scroll down and tap on “Upload from camera”

Take a photo of what you would like to upload using the white button > Tap “Use photo” > Tap on “Upload image” on the next screen.

Canvia's Device Settings
​​
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS
​
Click on “SET AP” if you have to bring the device to Access point mode. You will need Access point mode for changing the WiFi so you can connect back to new WiFi.
​
Click on “SYSTEM RESET” only if you want to delete all the data inside the device including your user data, uploaded images or art or videos. You will need to do “SYSTEM RESET” if you are giving the device to someone else as gift or sending to Canvia lab for a fix, so all data is wiped out before someone else can test or register the device.
​
Click on “DELETE DEVICE” if you want to deregister the device from the Canvia backend. If you are giving this device to someone else if it is recommended to use both “SYSTEM RESET” and “DELETE DEVICE”
​
Click on “DEVICE AUTHENTICATION” and use your login and password if your device is offline.
​
ENABLE MANUAL MODE should be used if device is not detected automatically and you are aware of the IP address.
Wi-Fi indicates the Wi-Fi network that your phone is currently connected to. This must match the Wi-Fi network on which you first registered your Canvia.

DEVICE SETTINGS
​
​DEVICE NAME shows the Canvia device name you suggested at the time of registration. You can change the name when required.
​
Status indicates whether your Canvia's display is off (Sleep) or on (Awake). Toggle between these options to turn off or on.
​
TIMEZONE indicates the timezone selected by the user. If it is the first time, then
Playback Duration determines how frequently artworks are changed within a playlist or queue.
​
​For PLAYBACK DURATION Select from the unit options and then use the slider to increase or decrease the time interval.
10 secs is the minimum allowed time interval.
DISPLAY SETTINGS
BRIGHTNESS allows you to manually adjust the brightness of Canvia's display.
​Slide to the right to increase display brightness or to the left to decrease.
​
ORIENTATION indicates whether your Canvia is displaying in the Portrait or Landscape orientations. Toggle between these options to change orientation.
TEXT OVERLAY indicates whether captions appear for displayed artworks on your Canvia: no captions (None), partial captions (Partial) or full captions (Full). Toggle between these options to change caption type

ARTSENSE & EQUALIZATION allow you to manually adjust Canvia's ArtSense and Equalization settings. These determine how Canvia interprets local visual conditions and adjusts its display accordingly.​ see the recommendation section for better control.

Click on “Home” at the bottom of the Canvia mobile app and you will see the featured artworks, playlists and artworks. Once you browse, you will see several playlists and artworks options, provided by Canvia.
​
Search: You can search desired artwork using search function using search page at the bottom of the Canvia mobile app.

Play artworks on the Canvia device
​
Click on “Play” button after finding the right artwork on the home page or subsequent navigation or using search function on the search page at the bottom of the Caniva mobile app. You can see the steps above, after clicking "Play", you will see artwork on the Canvia device after few secs and at the same time, the artwork will appear in the queue as shown above.

Queue artworks on the Canvia device
​
Click on “Queue” button after finding the right artwork on the home page or subsequent navigation or using search function on the search page at the bottom of the Caniva mobile app -you can see the steps above. After clicking "Queue", you will see the artwork appear in the queue as shown above. The artwork will play when queue runs to the end of listed artworks in the queue.

Add Canvia artworks to your personal playlist for curated playlist

Click on “Add to playlist” button below the artwork and either add to existing persona playlsit or create a new playlist as shown above.
​
Note: Personal playlists can have both personal images as well as Canvia artworks in a single playlist so you have best experience as per your needs.
